August Bday #3

I wanted to do a quick & simple card for my friend's upcoming birthday. I used my Cricut to cut out the phrase 'Happy Birthday' & then embossed it with my Cuttlebug. I added a button & some ribbon, along with the flowers & bam! Card is done! Easy, peasy. I just need to type out a sentiment to glue inside the card & this card will be on it's way!




[You can't really tell from the pictures, but the paper inside the card is green with white dots to match the ribbon on the outside.]

August Bday #2

I made this card for a friend's birthday. The paper tucked under the cake keeps the folded card shut...or it's supposed to, anyways! I cut it a little short on this card, but I'll be sure to fix that on future cards.

Britt's Birth

I know this card is a little overloaded with stuff, but I like it!! It's my first tri-fold card. Fun!

I made my first pop-up card for my friend's 40th birthday. It didn't turn out quite like I hoped it would, but it was a learning experience!! It seems to me the harder I try to make a 'cool' card, the less cool the card ends up being...

For my love...

I made a quickie card for my hubby this afternoon. It took me nearly an hour, but that's pretty quick for me!

I used the Wild Card cart on my Cricut to cut the owl shaped card. I was going to leave it like this, but it looked so blah!



Soooo, I ripped up some paper & made feathers!



...and created a clever interior.



All finished!

With Sympathy...

I had to make my first sympathy card today. I went to the store & bought a sympathy stamp for the front of the card. There are very few to choose from! I was disappointed...altho sympathy cards are my least favorite to make b/c I know there's a broken heart on the receiving end of the card, I know it's probably the most important card to make someone. When my grandmother passed away last year, I didn't want to be around anyone, but I wanted to know I had someone there for me. A card was the best thing for me at the time & I hope it's the best thing for my friends that lost their loved one recently.

The last July birthday card...

This card seems kind of bland to me, but it's for one of my guy friends, so it didn't need to be flashy. I'm trying to avoid making my cards too 'busy' or overloaded. I have a habit of getting carried away! Instead of using a traditional folding card, I used a brad to secure the 'presents' so the card would swing open. I thought it was a great idea at first, but then I realized how limited the inside space was due to the mechanics of the card. Oh well...live & learn!
