Flip Flop.

I tried a new kind of card tonight. I found a template online, but I didn't have the proper tools to measure it the way I should have, so I had to make it up as I went. It took me a few tries, but I finally came up with this. It's not my best work, I admit. I definitely need more practice with this design.

The first Thanksgiving card of the year...

I should have been working on Halloween cards or the two wedding cards I need to finish before I leave town on Thursday, but I got wrapped up with this Thanksgiving card! I bought new glittery fall flowers & found my Thanksgiving chipboard pieces, so I was very inspired today. Right now, the inside of this card is empty. I'll personalize it when I figure out who I'll send this card to.

HK airplane!

My BFF has been asking for a card since his dog destroyed the last one that I made him. I'm pretty proud of myself because I used a magazine cover to make the airplane. It's a pretty graphite color with shiny silver lines. It looks really good in person! Anyways, this goes out tomorrow because we're all headed to Thailand at the end of the week!

Up, up & away!

HK witch!

The last HK easel card...for now. I wanted to use the HK witch!

All of my HK Halloween easel cards from this week!

Graveyard card.

I saw a card similar to this a while back & couldn't wait to recreate it. I searched & searched for the 'how-to' online, but couldn't find a template. Sooo, I had to play around with the paper until I created the look I wanted!! I'm pretty proud of myself. The design is not perfect, but it turned out pretty well for my first time. I really enjoy playing around with new ideas!

Hello Kitty...kitty!

Another HK easel card. I used my black flocking powder to make HK fuzzy. You can 'pet' HK like a real kitty! Dustan loves my flocking powders. I have to admit, they're pretty cool!! They're a pain to apply, but they're a lot of fun.

You can kind of see the fuzzy flocking powder on HK's tail in this shot.

HK Halloween

Thanks to my fellow crafter & card making friend, Lisa, I finally figured out how to make a stand up card! They're called 'easel cards' and I love them! I need a little more practice with the design, but I think they're great. It's a perfect way to display a card...which is awesome! I can definitely see myself making A LOT of these for Xmas.

***Oops! I just realized that I didn't add glitter to the 'lollypop' in HK's hand. I'll definitely need to do that before this card gets sent out!

Skeletons...

I made a quickie Halloween card. It took me all of 15 minutes!! That's seriously a record for me. Even with a super simple card, I usually take at least 30 minutes. I'm getting better at this!!

Animals!

My friend asked me to make an 'animal' themed birthday card for her son's 2nd birthday this Saturday. I love it when people ask me to make a card & give me a theme! It really makes the whole card making experience so much better. It's a lot easier & a lot more fun when I am making cards for someone else to give away! I cheated with this card...I don't have a cart with animals, so I bought stickers! I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the sheet behind the monkey & I used my Doodlecharms cart to get the palm tree. I finally got to use my new ribbon punch that I have been dying to use. It evenly spaces little holes perfectly sized for my ribbon. I love it!

I'm pretty proud of my swinging monkey. All it took was layered paper, an eyelet and 'rope' for my little monkey to swing freely! Kids are easily amused by moving objects & I wanted to make sure my card interested him...at least for a couple of seconds. ;)

I couldn't decide if I wanted to use the sunshine & the cloud above the animals. I'm pretty sure I will because the card feels so empty without it. I left the brown spot open for the sentiment. I haven't come up with a cute saying yet...

Hello Kitty Halloween.

I don't know who will be the recipient of this card. It's a back up card!! If I don't have enough time to make a better card, this will go out to one of my fellow HK lovers. The Hello Kitty Greetings cart is the MOST difficult cart I own. Partly because I don't have the Cricut Expression. My Cricut is great with most of the carts, but sometimes I just can't use a cart to it's full potential because I have the smaller Cricut. It's a bit frustrating! I'm definitely considering an upgrade!!

Anyways, here's another tri-fold shutter card.

Hello Kitty Birthday!

I made a HK card for my friend's upcoming birthday. Fun fact: My friend actually gave me the HK ribbon I used on this card. I thought she would appreciate me putting the ribbon to good use!

I used my Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cart for this project. It's honestly the most difficult cart I own!! I don't recommend it, but I love it anyways.

A head start on Halloween!!

My first Halloween card of the year.

Baby Shower #2

As I mentioned before, my mom needed me to make 2 baby shower cards for her. This is card 2 of 2. I really like these tri-fold cards & they're fairly easy to make.

The baby rattle cut out is from my Wild Card cart.

Do you see that little blue dot on the flower? Well, I was stamping the back of the card with my initials and accidentally put the card in the ink pad. Thankfully, this was the only damage! I considered replacing the flower, but I thought I might do more damage taking the flower off the card since I used the super glue dots to hold it in place. Ah, the fun of card making!!

Happy Anni, honey!

I made an anniversary card for my husband. We'll be celebrating a full year of marriage on Sunday! It's amazing how fast a year goes by. I love you, Dustan!

The '143' design is from my Simply Sweet cart.

I didn't plan on adding anything else to the card, but it looked like it needed something...

So, I added '143' on the side. It means 'I love you' in number form. [I=1, love=4, you=3]

I still need to add the sentiment, but I am out of printer paper! I'm headed to my mom's to print up something sweet & then I'm headed to my hubby's office to leave this card & a cookie bouquet on his desk!

Baby Shower #1

My mom asked me to make 2 baby shower cards for the baby showers she will be attending this month. This is 1 of 2. After my mom adds a personal sentiment, this card will be ready!

I used my Wild Card Cricut cart for this card.

Happy Anniversary!

My mom asked me to make her 3 cards: 1 anniversary card & 2 baby shower cards. I had a limited amount of time to make the anniversary card & I put it off until the last minute because I thought I knew what I wanted to do. I planned to make the anniversary card like I've made several of the birthday cards lately. However, I decided I needed to change it up a bit. I don't want my cards to look similar! I want each card to be unique and different. I'm not 100% happy with the way this card turned out, but Dustan likes it a lot. It makes me feel much better when he expresses excitement over my creations. He's the best!

I used my Simply Sweet & Wild Card carts for this project.
